Another way How Do Uninstall Deep Freezer If I Lost Password?

1. Just goto bios setup and change the date 3 years backward from now because deep freeze doesn't exist that year save it and restart your computer.

2. After restarting your computer press F8 to select the boot option. Select Windows Debugging mode.

3. When the welcome screen appear be ready place your finger at the CTRL + ALT + DEL or shortcut key to task manager.

4. When desktop appear hit the three keys quickly. The windows task manager should appear when you hit CTRL +ALT + DEL.

5. Quickly kill this process DF5Serv.Exe press DEL to kill this process. If the process DF5Serv.Exe it's done.

6. Restart your computer and change the date to present date. Then boot up your computer. There you can see the deep freeze task icon mark as X means it is disable. Use deep freeze installer to uninstall deep freeze and install it again if you like.

How to Uninstall Deep Freeze for Windows 2000/XP/Vista without the password.
Note: Without a complete uninstallation you may not be able to reinstall Deep Freeze on your system.
What we are going to do is edit the registry and delete the startup references to Deep Freeze. This will prevent the Deep Freeze driver from starting up the next time you boot. (c:\windows\system32\drivers\deepfrz.sys)
1. First we need a way to edit the registry. The way to do this depends on your situation. If your computer is thawed you can simply use Regedit. If your computer is frozen or if it doesn't boot you'll need to find another way. Here are some alternatives:
If you have a multiboot computer with another copy of Windows 2K/XP you can boot from there. Or, you can physically mount the disk on another computer that uses Windows 2K/XP.
You will probably use a tool that lets you boot and edit the registry. A good example of this is PE Builder that lets you build a Windows PE CD and boot Windows from there. Or use Bart's, http://www.nu2.nu/pebuilder/ or Winternals ERD Commander. There are several, including some USB memory sticks capable of booting like a CD. The goal here is to boot separately from your hard drive and access it while it is "asleep".
2. If your computer is thawed run Regedit. If it's not thawed follow one of the alternatives described above, and run Regedit (or Regedt32 on Windows 2K).
3. On the Find dialog box type UpperFilters and check only the Values checkbox. Then click Find Next.
4. The program will find a value with the name UpperFilters. Open this value and if there's a line with the name of the Deep Freeze driver (DeepFrz or DepFrzLo) delete it including the return, leaving the rest of the lines intact. Also, if you are using ThawSpace and you want to get rid of it delete that line too (ThwSpace), if you want to keep the ThawSpace leave it there. Press F3 to find the next match and repeat the operation until you have fixed all the UpperFilters values inside the HKLM\MySystem key.
5. Navigate to HKLM\MySystem\Select and check the value with the name Default. It has the number of the control set key that the system will use when booted. If it is 1 the control set is ControlSet001, if it is 2 the control set is ControlSet002, and so on. We'll assume the control set is ControlSet001 but you should use the one specified by the value Default.
6. Now go to HKLM\MySystem\ControlSet001\Services and delete the keys with the name of the Deep Freeze drivers (DeepFrz or DepFrzLo and DepFrzHi). Also, if you decided to get rid of the ThawSpace delete the key with the name of the ThawSpace driver (ThwSpace).
7. That's it. Now reboot and Deep Freeze will not load.
QUESTION: What if the BIOS settings prevent me from booting from CD or USB? Answer: Deep Freeze prevents you from decrypting the BIOS password, but it does not prevent removing it, if you have the right tool! Most of the BIOS hacking programs will not work to remove the BIOS password on a Deep Freeze protected computer, but CmosPwd by Christophe Grenier does.
You'll need to know how to use a command line and install the driver. Yes, it uses a driver to remove the BIOS password. But it works, even on Deep Freeze protected computers. Use CmosPwd to remove the BIOS password and reset the default BIOS settings. Then you'll be able to boot from CD or USB and edit your computer's registry and remove the DeepFrz, DepFrzLo, and DepFrzHi references which start Deep Freeze.
Now here is a little known secret: Faronics (the makers of Deep Freeze) uses a special driver to remove broken or malicious Deep Freeze installations. They do not have any backdoor passwords, so they use a special driver to remove a Deep Freeze installation where the password is not known or that someone is having trouble with. Will they send it to you, or even admit to you that they have it? I don't know. But, even if you do have it, you will still have to boot separately from the hard drive and replace the existing Deep Freeze driver with the special one and reboot. And after that, you need to use a Deep Freeze installation file to fully uninstall Deep Freeze (it will be thawed when you boot up with the special driver). If you want to re-install Deep Freeze, you'll have to first delete the special driver too.
Only a few people have this driver. It is the only solution Faronics has for those who need to remove Deep Freeze without the password. And, like I said, you will have to be able to boot from CD or USB and access the NTFS hard drive. If the boot-up order is locked (hard drive first and only) in BIOS settings, use CmosPwd to reset BIOS and boot order. Then you can boot from CD or USB.
Booting from CD or USB and removing the registry references works also, but then you should uninstall Deep Freeze with an installation file once you are able to boot thawed.
If you are dealing with a trial version of Deep Freeze, just forward the BIOS date past 60 days and then restart.
If anyone is wondering if Deep Freeze has ever been hacked, the answer is "yes" it has, several times over the years. Most of the time these were weaknesses that Faronics was able to quickly fix or prevent. However, there was one hacker that really, REALLY gave them headaches. His name was Emiiano Scavuzzo from Argentina. He was really good at low level programming and used OllyDbg to come up with about five versions of his "Deep Unfreezer" which gave Faronics their greatest challenge to date. Deep Unfreezer now only works on older versions of Deep Freeze.
Faronics is doing very, very well right now (as of 2008). They sold Apple Computer their Mac version of Deep Freeze, which, if you know how to look for it in the Applications folder on a Mac, is used in all the Apple Stores on both their desktops and their laptops. So, if you're ever in a Mac store playing around with PhotoBooth or whatever, and the computer settings are all messed up, just restart the Mac and thank Deep Freeze.

1. Love Is The Law Of Life: All love is expansion, all selfishness is contraction. Love is therefore the only law of life. He who loves lives, he who is selfish is dying. Therefore, love for love's sake, because it is law of life, just as you breathe to live.

2. It's Your Outlook That Matters:
It is our own mental attitude, which makes the world what it is for us. Our thoughts make things beautiful, our thoughts make things ugly. The whole world is in our own minds. Learn to see things in the proper light.

The greatest religion is to be true to your own nature. Have faith in yourselves!

11. Nothing Is Impossible: Never think there is anything impossible for the soul. It is the greatest heresy to think so. If there is sin, this is the only sin - to say that you are weak, or others are weak.

12. You Have The Power: All the powers in the universe are already ours. It is we who have put our hands before our eyes and cry that it is dark.

13. Learn Everyday: The goal of mankind is knowledge... now this knowledge is inherent in man. No knowledge comes from outside: it is all inside. 6. Bill Gates: Gates didn’t seem like a shoe-in for success after dropping out of Harvard and starting a failed first business with Microsoft co-founder Paul Allen called Traf-O-Data. While this early idea didn’t work, Gates’ later work did, creating the global empire that is Microsoft.

7. Harland David Sanders: Perhaps better known as Colonel Sanders of Kentucky Fried Chicken fame, Sanders had a hard time selling his chicken at first. In fact, his famous secret chicken recipe was rejected 1,009 times before a restaurant accepted it.

8. Walt Disney:
Today Disney rakes in billions from merchandise, movies and theme parks around the world, but Walt Disney himself had a bit of a rough start. He was fired by a newspaper editor because, “he lacked imagination and had no good ideas.” After that, Disney started a number of businesses that didn’t last too long and ended with bankruptcy and failure. He kept plugging along, however, and eventually found a recipe for success that worked.

9. Albert Einstein: Most of us take Einstein’s name as synonymous with genius, but he didn’t always show such promise. Einstein did not speak until he was four and did not read until he was seven, causing his teachers and parents to think he was mentally handicapped, slow and anti-social. Eventually, he was expelled from school and was refused admittance to the Zurich Polytechnic School. It might have taken him a bit longer, but most people would agree that he caught on pretty well in the end, winning the Nobel Prize and changing the face of modern physics.

10. Charles Darwin: In his early years, Darwin gave up on having a medical career and was often chastised by his father for being lazy and too dreamy. Darwin himself wrote, “I was considered by all my masters and my father, a very ordinary boy, rather below the common standard of intellect.” Perhaps they judged too soon, as Darwin today is well-known for his scientific studies.

11. Robert Goddard: Goddard today is hailed for his research and experimentation with liquid-fueled rockets, but during his lifetime his ideas were often rejected and mocked by his scientific peers who thought they were outrageous and impossible. Today rockets and space travel don’t seem far-fetched at all, due largely in part to the work of this scientist who worked against the feelings of the time.
12. Isaac Newton: Newton was undoubtedly a genius when it came to math, but he had some failings early on. He never did particularly well in school and when put in charge of running the family farm, he failed miserably, so poorly in fact that an uncle took charge and sent him off to Cambridge where he finally blossomed into the scholar we know today.

13. Socrates: Despite leaving no written records behind, Socrates is regarded as one of the greatest philosophers of the Classical era. Because of his new ideas, in his own time he was called “an immoral corrupter of youth” and was sentenced to death. Socrates didn’t let this stop him and kept right on, teaching up until he was forced to poison himself.

14. Robert Sternberg: This big name in psychology received a C in his first college introductory psychology class with his teacher telling him that, “there was already a famous Sternberg in psychology and it was obvious there would not be another.” Sternberg showed him, however, graduating from Stanford with exceptional distinction in psychology, summa cum laude, and Phi Beta Kappa and eventually becoming the President of the American Psychological Association.

Inventors

These inventors changed the face of the modern world, but not without a few failed prototypes along the way.

15. Thomas Edison: In his early years, teachers told Edison he was “too stupid to learn anything.” Work was no better, as he was fired from his first two jobs for not being productive enough. Even as an inventor, Edison made 1,000 unsuccessful attempts at inventing the light bulb. Of course, all those unsuccessful attempts finally resulted in the design that worked.

16. Orville and Wilbur Wright: These brothers battled depression and family illness before starting the bicycle shop that would lead them to experimenting with flight. After numerous attempts at creating flying machines, several years of hard work, and tons of failed prototypes, the brothers finally created a plane that could get airborne and stay there.

17. Winston Churchill: This Nobel Prize-winning, twice-elected Prime Minster of the United Kingdom wasn’t always as well regarded as he is today. Churchill struggled in school and failed the sixth grade. After school he faced many years of political failures, as he was defeated in every election for public office until he finally became the Prime Minister at the ripe old age of 62.

18. Abraham Lincoln: While today he is remembered as one of the greatest leaders of our nation, Lincoln’s life wasn’t so easy. In his youth he went to war a captain and returned a private (if you’re not familiar with military ranks, just know that private is as low as it goes.) Lincoln didn’t stop failing there, however. He started numerous failed business and was defeated in numerous runs he made for public office.

19. Oprah Winfrey: Most people know Oprah as one of the most iconic faces on TV as well as one of the richest and most successful women in the world. Oprah faced a hard road to get to that position, however, enduring a rough and often abusive childhood as well as numerous career setbacks including being fired from her job as a television reporter because she was “unfit for tv.”

20. Harry S. Truman: This WWI vet, Senator, Vice President and eventual President eventually found success in his life, but not without a few missteps along the way. Truman started a store that sold silk shirts and other clothing–seemingly a success at first–only go bankrupt a few years later.

21. Dick Cheney: This recent Vice President and businessman made his way to the White House but managed to flunk out of Yale University, not once, but twice. Former President George W. Bush joked with Cheney about this fact, stating, “So now we know –if you graduate from Yale, you become president. If you drop out, you get to be vice president.”

Hollywood Types

These faces ought to be familiar from the big screen, but these actors, actresses and directors saw their fair share of rejection and failure before they made it big.

22. Jerry Seinfeld: Just about everybody knows who Seinfeld is, but the first time the young comedian walked on stage at a comedy club, he looked out at the audience, froze and was eventually jeered and booed off of the stage. Seinfeld knew he could do it, so he went back the next night, completed his set to laughter and applause, and the rest is history.

23. Fred Astaire: In his first screen test, the testing director of MGM noted that Astaire, “Can’t act. Can’t sing. Slightly bald. Can dance a little.” Astaire went on to become an incredibly successful actor, singer and dancer and kept that note in his Beverly Hills home to remind him of where he came from.

Sidney Poitier: After his first audition, Poitier was told by the casting director, “Why don’t you stop wasting people’s time and go out and become a dishwasher or something?” Poitier vowed to show him that he could make it, going on to win an Oscar and become one of the most well-regarded actors in the business.

25. Jeanne Moreau: As a young actress just starting out, this French actress was told by a casting director that she was simply not pretty enough to make it in films. He couldn’t have been more wrong as Moreau when on to star in nearly 100 films and win numerous awards for her performances.

Before starring in I Love Lucy, Ball was widely regarded as a failed actress and a B movie star. Even her drama instructors didn’t feel she could make it, telling her to try another profession. She, of course, proved them all wrong.

28. Harrison Ford: In his first film, Ford was told by the movie execs that he simply didn’t have what it takes to be a star. Today, with numerous hits under his belt, iconic portrayals of characters like Han Solo and Indiana Jones, and a career that stretches decades, Ford can proudly show that he does, in fact, have what it takes.

29. Marilyn Monroe: While Monroe’s star burned out early, she did have a period of great success in her life. 30. Oliver Stone: This Oscar-winning filmmaker began his first novel while at Yale, a project that eventually caused him to fail out of school. This would turn out to be a poor decision as the the text was rejected by publishers and was not published until 1998, at which time it was not well-received. After dropping out of school, Stone moved to Vietnam to teach English, later enlisting in the army and fighting in the war, a battle that earning two Purple Hearts and helped him find the inspiration for his later work that often center around war.

Writers and Artists

We’ve all heard about starving artists and struggling writers, but these stories show that sometimes all that work really does pay off with success in the long run.

31. Vincent Van Gogh: During his lifetime, Van Gogh sold only one painting, and this was to a friend and only for a very small amount of money. While Van Gogh was never a success during his life, he plugged on with painting, sometimes starving to complete his over 800 known works. Today, they bring in hundreds of millions.

32. Emily Dickinson: Recluse and poet Emily Dickinson is a commonly read and loved writer. Yet in her lifetime she was all but ignored, having fewer than a dozen poems published out of her almost 1,800 completed works.

35. Steven Spielberg: While today Spielberg’s name is synonymous with big budget, he was rejected from the University of Southern California School of Theater, Film and Television three times. He eventually attended school at another location, only to drop out to become a director before finishing. Thirty-five years after starting his degree, Spielberg returned to school in 2002 to finally complete his work and earn his BA.

36. Stephen King: The first book by this author, the iconic thriller Carrie, received 30 rejections, finally causing King to give up and throw it in the trash. His wife fished it out and encouraged him to resubmit it, and the rest is history, with King now having hundreds of books published the distinction of being one of the best-selling authors of all time.

37. Zane Grey:
Incredibly popular in the early 20th century, this adventure book writer began his career as a dentist, something he quickly began to hate. So, he began to write, only to see rejection after rejection for his works, being told eventually that he had no business being a writer and should given up. It took him years, but at 40, Zane finally got his first work published, leaving him with almost 90 books to his name and selling over 50 million copies worldwide.

38. J. K. Rowling: Rowling may be rolling in a lot of Harry Potter dough today, but before she published the series of novels she was nearly penniless, severely depressed, divorced, trying to raise a child on her own while attending school and writing a novel. Rowling went from depending on welfare to survive to being one of the richest women in the world in a span of only five years through her hard work and determination.

39. Monet: Today Monet’s work sells for millions of dollars and hangs in some of the most prestigious institutions in the world. Yet during his own time, it was mocked and rejected by the artistic elite, the Paris Salon. Monet kept at his impressionist style, which caught on and in many ways was a starting point for some major changes to art that ushered in the modern era.

40. Jack London: This well-known American author wasn’t always such a success. While he would go on to publish popular novels like White Fang and The Call of the Wild, his first story received six hundred rejection slips before finally being accepted.

42. Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart: Mozart began composing at the age of five, writing over 600 pieces of music that today are lauded as some of the best ever created. Yet during his lifetime, Mozart didn’t have such an easy time, and was often restless, leading to his dismissal from a position as a court musician in Salzberg. He struggled to keep the support of the aristocracy and died with little to his name.

As one of the best-selling artists of all time, Elvis has become a household name even years after his death. But back in 1954, Elvis was still a nobody, and Jimmy Denny, manager of the Grand Ole Opry, fired Elvis Presley after just one performance telling him, “You ain’t going nowhere, son. 48. Stan Smith: This tennis player was rejected from even being a lowly ball boy for a Davis Cup tennis match because event organizers felt he was too clumsy and uncoordinated. Smith went on to prove them wrong, showcasing his not-so-clumsy skills by winning Wimbledon, U. S. Open and eight Davis Cups.

49. Babe Ruth: You probably know Babe Ruth because of his home run record (714 during his career), but along with all those home runs came a pretty hefty amount of strikeouts as well (1,330 in all). In fact, for decades he held the record for strikeouts. When asked about this he simply said, “Every strike brings me closer to the next home run.”

50. Tom Landry: As the coach of the Dallas Cowboys, Landry brought the team two Super Bowl victories, five NFC Championship victories and holds the records for the record for the most career wins. He also has the distinction of having one of the worst first seasons on record (winning no games) and winning five or fewer over the next four seasons.

The common sense point here is simple. Successful people commit to taking personal responsibility for their career success. They set high goals and do whatever it takes to achieve them. They also react positively to the people and events in their lives – especially the negative people and events. In this post, I told the stories of 50 well known people who ended up being wildly successful and well known. Let them be an example for you the next time you feel like giving up.

What is Assembler?
--------------------

Assembler has got to be one of my favourite languages to work with. Not that
it's an easy language at first, but when you become familiar with it, you'll
realise just how logical it is.

Assembler is a low-level language which you can use to give you programs added
speed on slow tasks. Basically it consists of statements which represent
machine language instructions, and as it's nearly machine code, it's fast.

In the early days before the 8086 came about, yes, there were humans on the
Earth back then, :), programming was not an easy task. When the first
computers were developed, programming had to be done in machine code which was
_not_ an easy task, and so Assembler was born.


Why use it?
-------------

As I said before, Assembler is fast. It also allows you to speak to the
machine at hardware level, and gives you much greater control and flexibility
over the PC. One of the other advantages of Assembler is that it allows you
to impress your friends by entering pages of seemingly incomprehensible code.
Watch them gather round you and be impressed/laugh at your nerdiness? :)


How did this tutorial come about?
-----------------------------------

Well, I had a couple of friends who wanted to learn Assembler to speed up
their Pascal programs, so I gave them some Assembler Tutorials I had. While
these tutorials had all the information you'd ever need, they were not written
for the novice to easily understand, so I decided to write my own.

LESSON 1 - Registers
----------------------


When you're working with Assembler, you'll have to use registers. You can
think of these as variables already defined for you. The most common are
listed below:

þ AX - the accumulator. Comprises AH and AL, the high and low bytes
of AX. Commonly used in mathematical and I/O operations.

þ BX - the base. Comprises BH and BL. Commonly used as a base or
pointer register.

þ CX - the counter. Comprises CH and CL. Used often in loops.

þ DX - the displacement, similar to the base register. Comprises DH and
DL. I think you're getting the pattern now.

These registers are defined as general purpose registers as we can really
store anything we want in them. They are also 16-bit registers, meaning that
we can store a positive integer from 0 to 65535, or a negative integer from
-32768 to 32768.

Incidently, the matter of the high and low byte of these resgisters has caused
quite a bit of confusion in the past, so I'll try to give it some explaination
here. AX has a range of 0 to FFFFh. This means that you have a range of
0 to FFh for AH and AL. (If you're a little concerned with the hex, don't
worry. Next tutorial will cover it.)

Now if we were to store 0A4Ch in AX, AH will contain 0Ah, and AL will contain
4Ch. Get the idea? This is a pretty important concept, and I'll cover it in
more depth next tute.


The segment registers: !

These are some other registers which we will not cover for the first few
tutorials, but will look at in greater depth later. They are immensely handy,
but can also be dangerous.

þ CS - the code segment. The block of memory where the code is stored.
DON'T fool around with this one unless you know what you are doing.
I'm not all that sure that you can actually change it - I've never
tried.

þ DS - the data segment. The area in memory where the data is stored.
During block operations when vast blocks of data are moved, this is
the segment which the CPU commonly refers to.

þ ES - the extra segment. Just another data segment, but this one is
commonly used when accessing the video.

þ SS - no, not the German army. This is the stack segment, in which the
CPU stores return addresses from subroutines. Take care with this
one. :)

Some others you will commonly use are:

þ SI - the source index. Often used in conjuction with block move
instructions. This is a pointer within a segment, usually DS, that
is read from by the CPU.

þ DI - the destination index. Again, you'll use it a lot. Another pointer
within a segment, often ES, that is written to by the CPU.

þ BP - the base pointer, used in conjunction with the stack segment. We
won't be using it a lot.

þ SP - the stack pointer, commonly used with the stack segment. DON'T fool
around with this one until you are sure you know what you are doing.

By now you should understand what registers are. There are other registers
too, and things known as flags, but we will not go into these as yet.

THINGS TO DO:

1) Learn the various registers off by heart.
2) Get a calculator that supports hexadecimal - damn handy, or a least an
ASCII chart. That covers 0 - 255, or 0h to FFh.

LESSON 2 - The 8086 instruction set:

--------------------------------------

Okay, so you've learnt about registers, but how do you use them, and how do
you code in Assembler? Well, first you'll need some instructions. The
following instructions can be used on all CPU's from the 8086 up.

þ MOV , - MOVE. This instruction allows you to MOVE a value
into a location in memory.

EG: MOV AX, 13h

This would move 13h (19 decimal) into the AX
regsister. So if AX had previously held 0, it
would now hold 13h.

THIS ONLY MOVES THE VALUE INTO THE REGISTER, IT
DOES NOT DO ANYTHING.

EG: (In Pascal) AX := $13;

þ INT - INTERRUPT. This instruction generates an interupt.
You can think of this as a bit like a procedure.

EG: INT 10h

Would generate interrupt 10h (16 decimal). Now
what this would do depends on the contents of the
AH register, among other things. For instance,
if AX = 13h and interrupt 10h was generated, the
video would be placed into 320x200x256 mode.

More accurately:

AH would equal 00 - set mode subfunction, and
AL would equal 13h - 320x200x256 graphics mode.

However, if AH = 2h, and interrupt 16h was
generated, this would instruct the CPU to check if
a keypress was waiting in the keyboard buffer.

If AH = 2h, and BH = 0h and interrupt 10h was
generated, then the CPU would move the cursor to
the X location in DL and the Y location in DH.

You can bear in mind, that AH contains the function
to execute, and the other registers may contain any
other data necessary.

DO NOT WORRY ABOUT THIS FOR NOW, WE WILL COVER IT
IN GREATER DETAIL LATER.

þ ADD - ADD. This instruction adds a number to the value
stored in dest.

EG: MOV AX, 0h ; AX now equals 0h
ADD AX, 5h ; AX now equals 5h
ADD AX, 10h ; AX now equals 15h

Pretty simple, huh?

þ SUB - SUBTRACT. I think you can guess what this does.

EG: MOV AX, 13h ; AX now equals 13h (19 dec)
SUB AX, 5h ; AX now equals 0Eh (14 dec)

þ DEC - DECREMENTS something.

EG: MOV AX, 13h ; AX now equals 13h
DEC AX ; AX now equals 12h

þ INC - INCREMENTS something.

EG: MOV AX, 13h ; Take a guess
INC AX ; AX = AX + 1

þ JMP - JUMPS to a location.

EG: JMP 020Ah ; Jump to the instruction at 020Ah
JMP @MyLabel ; Jump to @MyLabel.

DON'T WORRY IF THIS IS A LITTLE CONFUSING - IT GETS

Common Interview Questions

Review these typical interview questions and think about how you would answer them. Read
the questions listed; you will also find some strategy suggestions with it.
1. Tell me about yourself:
The most often asked question in interviews. You need to have a short statement prepared
in your mind. Be careful that it does not sound rehearsed. Limit it to work-related items
unless instructed otherwise. Talk about things you have done and jobs you have held that
relate to the position you are interviewing for. Start with the item farthest back and work up
to the present.
2. Why did you leave your last job?
Stay positive regardless of the circumstances. Never refer to a major problem with
management and never speak ill of supervisors, co-workers or the organization. If you do,
you will be the one looking bad. Keep smiling and talk about leaving for a positive reason
such as an opportunity, a chance to do something special or other forward-looking reasons.
3. What experience do you have in this field?
Speak about specifics that relate to the position you are applying for. If you do not have
specific experience, get as close as you can.
4. Do you consider yourself successful?
You should always answer yes and briefly explain why. A good explanation is that you have
set goals, and you have met some and are on track to achieve the others.
5. What do co-workers say about you?
Be prepared with a quote or two from co-workers. Either a specific statement or a
paraphrase will work. Jill Clark, a co-worker at Smith Company, always said I was the
hardest workers she had ever known. It is as powerful as Jill having said it at the interview
herself.
6. What do you know about this organization?
This question is one reason to do some research on the organization before the interview.
Find out where they have been and where they are going. What are the current issues and
who are the major players?
7. What have you done to improve your knowledge in the last year?
Try to include improvement activities that relate to the job. A wide variety of activities can
be mentioned as positive self-improvement. Have some good ones handy to mention.
8. Are you applying for other jobs?
Be honest but do not spend a lot of time in this area. Keep the focus on this job and what
you can do for this organization. Anything else is a distraction.
9. Why do you want to work for this organization?
Resources
This may take some thought and certainly, should be based on the research you have done
on the organization. Sincerity is extremely important here and will easily be sensed. Relate
it to your long-term career goals.
10. Do you know anyone who works for us?
Be aware of the policy on relatives working for the organization. This can affect your answer
even though they asked about friends not relatives. Be careful to mention a friend only if
they are well thought of.
11. What kind of salary do you need?
A loaded question. A nasty little game that you will probably lose if you answer first. So, do
not answer it. Instead, say something like, That's a tough question. Can you tell me the
range for this position? In most cases, the interviewer, taken off guard, will tell you. If not,
say that it can depend on the details of the job. Then give a wide range.
12. Are you a team player?
You are, of course, a team player. Be sure to have examples ready. Specifics that show you
often perform for the good of the team rather than for yourself are good evidence of your
team attitude. Do not brag, just say it in a matter-of-fact tone. This is a key point.
13. How long would you expect to work for us if hired?
Specifics here are not good. Something like this should work: I'd like it to be a long time. Or
As long as we both feel I'm doing a good job.
14. Have you ever had to fire anyone? How did you feel about that?
This is serious. Do not make light of it or in any way seem like you like to fire people. At the
same time, you will do it when it is the right thing to do. When it comes to the organization
versus the individual who has created a harmful situation, you will protect the organization.
Remember firing is not the same as layoff or reduction in force.
15. What is your philosophy towards work?
The interviewer is not looking for a long or flowery dissertation here. Do you have strong
feelings that the job gets done? Yes. That's the type of answer that works best here. Short
and positive, showing a benefit to the organization.
16. If you had enough money to retire right now, would you?
Answer yes if you would. But since you need to work, this is the type of work you prefer. Do
not say yes if you do not mean it.
17. Have you ever been asked to leave a position?
If you have not, say no. If you have, be honest, brief and avoid saying negative things
about the people or organization involved.
18. Explain how you would be an asset to this organization
You should be anxious for this question. It gives you a chance to highlight your best points
as they relate to the position being discussed. Give a little advance thought to this
relationship.
19. Why should we hire you?
Point out how your assets meet what the organization needs. Do not mention any other
candidates to make a comparison.

20. Tell me about a suggestion you have made
Have a good one ready. Be sure and use a suggestion that was accepted and was then
considered successful. One related to the type of work applied for is a real plus.
21. What irritates you about co-workers?
This is a trap question. Think real hard but fail to come up with anything that irritates you.
A short statement that you seem to get along with folks is great.
22. What is your greatest strength?
Numerous answers are good, just stay positive. A few good examples:
Your ability to prioritize, Your problem-solving skills, Your ability to work under pressure,
Your ability to focus on projects, Your professional expertise, Your leadership skills, Your
positive attitude .
23. Tell me about your dream job.
Stay away from a specific job. You cannot win. If you say the job you are contending for is
it, you strain credibility. If you say another job is it, you plant the suspicion that you will be
dissatisfied with this position if hired. The best is to stay genetic and say something like: A
job where I love the work, like the people, can contribute and can't wait to get to work.
24. Why do you think you would do well at this job?
Give several reasons and include skills, experience and interest.
25. What are you looking for in a job?
See answer # 23
26. What kind of person would you refuse to work with?
Do not be trivial. It would take disloyalty to the organization, violence or lawbreaking to get
you to object. Minor objections will label you as a whiner.
27. What is more important to you: the money or the work?
Money is always important, but the work is the most important. There is no better answer.
28. What would your previous supervisor say your strongest point is?
There are numerous good possibilities:
Loyalty, Energy, Positive attitude, Leadership, Team player, Expertise, Initiative, Patience,
Hard work, Creativity, Problem solver
29. Tell me about a problem you had with a supervisor
Biggest trap of all. This is a test to see if you will speak ill of your boss. If you fall for it and
tell about a problem with a former boss, you may well below the interview right there. Stay
positive and develop a poor memory about any trouble with a supervisor.
30. What has disappointed you about a job?
Don't get trivial or negative. Safe areas are few but can include:
Not enough of a challenge. You were laid off in a reduction Company did not win a contract,
which would have given you more responsibility.
31. Tell me about your ability to work under pressure.
Resources
You may say that you thrive under certain types of pressure. Give an example that relates
to the type of position applied for.
32. Do your skills match this job or another job more closely?
Probably this one. Do not give fuel to the suspicion that you may want another job more
than this one.
33. What motivates you to do your best on the job?
This is a personal trait that only you can say, but good examples are:
Challenge, Achievement, Recognition
34. Are you willing to work overtime? Nights? Weekends?
This is up to you. Be totally honest.
35. How would you know you were successful on this job?
Several ways are good measures:
You set high standards for yourself and meet them. Your outcomes are a success.Your boss
tell you that you are successful
36. Would you be willing to relocate if required?
You should be clear on this with your family prior to the interview if you think there is a
chance it may come up. Do not say yes just to get the job if the real answer is no. This can
create a lot of problems later on in your career. Be honest at this point and save yourself
future grief.
37. Are you willing to put the interests of the organization ahead of your own?
This is a straight loyalty and dedication question. Do not worry about the deep ethical and
philosophical implications. Just say yes.
38. Describe your management style.
Try to avoid labels. Some of the more common labels, like progressive, salesman or
consensus, can have several meanings or descriptions depending on which management
expert you listen to. The situational style is safe, because it says you will manage according
to the situation, instead of one size fits all.
39. What have you learned from mistakes on the job?
Here you have to come up with something or you strain credibility. Make it small, well
intentioned mistake with a positive lesson learned. An example would be working too far
ahead of colleagues on a project and thus throwing coordination off.
40. Do you have any blind spots?
Trick question. If you know about blind spots, they are no longer blind spots. Do not reveal
any personal areas of concern here. Let them do their own discovery on your bad points. Do
not hand it to them.
41. If you were hiring a person for this job, what would you look for?
Be careful to mention traits that are needed and that you have.
42. Do you think you are overqualified for this position?
Regardless of your qualifications, state that you are very well qualified for the position.

43. How do you propose to compensate for your lack of experience?
First, if you have experience that the interviewer does not know about, bring that up: Then,
point out (if true) that you are a hard working quick learner.
44. What qualities do you look for in a boss?
Be generic and positive. Safe qualities are knowledgeable, a sense of humor, fair, loyal to
subordinates and holder of high standards. All bosses think they have these traits.
45. Tell me about a time when you helped resolve a dispute between others.
Pick a specific incident. Concentrate on your problem solving technique and not the dispute
you settled.
46. What position do you prefer on a team working on a project?
Be honest. If you are comfortable in different roles, point that out.
47. Describe your work ethic.
Emphasize benefits to the organization. Things like, determination to get the job done and
work hard but enjoy your work are good.
48. What has been your biggest professional disappointment?
Be sure that you refer to something that was beyond your control. Show acceptance and no
negative feelings.
49. Tell me about the most fun you have had on the job.
Talk about having fun by accomplishing something for the organization.
50. Do you have any questions for me?
Always have some questions prepared. Questions prepared where you will be an asset to
the organization are good. How soon will I be able to be productive? and What type of
projects will I be able to assist on? are examples.
